Art Journal #01 — Stop Motion
Hello, welcome to my first art journal! I’m pretty excited to share things here. I’ll be documenting my art journey in blog format here. So, not to make this too long, here’s what I’ve been exploring lately.

STOP MOTION
I finally got a printer in February, and this was the first thing I wanted to try. Fresh from our Krabi, Thailand trip, I created these “labels” on Adobe Illustrator. Initially, I designed these titles for my YouTube video (link), but I repurposed them again for this project.
I used fine art paper to print them out and cut them one by one. Then I found a good light source, which was in our living room, and started the process. I really didn’t have any foundation for this project; I just went right ahead and took my shot according to the fundamental process of creating stop motion animation, lol. I just took very simple shots and moved around the labels wherever I saw fit. It was very impromptu. Haha.

I then edited these photos in Adobe Lightroom because the light was moving around. Not all of the photos had uniform lighting, lol. I know, I know. I will bring in my studio light when I go home to the Philippines. But this is what I’ll be working on for now.
After editing the photos one by one, I dragged them over to Photoshop. Thank god I learned to make animated gifs back in my Tumblr days. This was pretty nostalgic for me, haha. I just arranged the layers and manually set the frame duration, and voila! Stop-motion animation.

Till Next Time,
